Application Integration Architecture (AIA) is the most complete integration solution for orchestrating agile, user-centric business processes across your enterprise applications. AIA products include:

• Process Integration Packs (PIPs): Pre-built, packaged integrations to support composite business processes across enterprise applications.
• Foundation Pack: Business process composition framework that provides the architectural and programming model, best practices, utilities, Services on which AIA users can develop standardized, cross-application process integrations.

AIA is optional in system integration. Built on Oracle SOA Suite, AIA packs helps clients to accelerate SOA adoption, and integrate enterprise application in shortest possible time, but each of these packs are associated with cost, clients have to purchase the Foundation Packs and PIP’s separately by the enterprise systems that are being integrated.
